The best features of a stab proof vest

The best features to expect from a stab proof vest have to be knife and blunt trauma protection. Although no stab vest is stab proof (no regular stab vest) protection to a high level is given, and KR1 is the first UK certified level of protection and KR2 is something used in extreme situations, and many budgets will not allow for this level of protection.

A stab vest should be comfortable, as many people wear these items all day long. There is much confusion over whether to get bullet protection as well as stab protection. Really you need to make the decision on what you prefer, and there are many options in terms of cross style vests offering both bullet and stab protection, though if you do not really need bullet protection, this can mean weight issues with the armour.

Body armour has been around since the beginning of time, and the most important thing, as always has been, is the quality of the materials used, followed by workmanship. Theses are the two best ways to assess any body armour. Both need to be good in order for the armour to be most effective. You do not need to be a rocket scientist to make armour, and much armour now is made using machines, but the quality of materials can not be compromised. For a stab vest, the materials used must be able to withstand sharp objects, and also provide blunt trauma resistance to avoid broken bones and nerve damage.
